Installing LPR printing software under Microsoft Windows Professional and XP

Note: You MUST be logged in as Administrator to complete the following installation wizard.  If you do not have Administrator privileges on the machine that you wish to install the LPR printer and port please see your DCC.  If you are unsure of how to proceed, please see your DCC

1)  Go to START|CONTROL PANELS|NETWORK CONNECTIONS.  Under the ADVANCED menu select OPTIONAL NETWORKING COMPONENTS.  A wizard will appear:

2) Hit the DETAILS button and check PRINT SERVICES FOR UNIX on the subsequent screen and the click OK:

3) The window will close and you should now click NEXT.

4) Windows will now install PRINT SERVICES FOR UNIX.   After installation has completed you may be asked to reboot your computer.

At this point you should have successfully installed PRINT SERVICES FOR UNIX.  If you have any questions regarding the installation of this software please contact your DCC.
