I am a fifth-year geophysics graduate student at Brown studying seismology and mantle dynamics. You can use the links on the left to browse through the site and learn more about me and my research. If you have any questions or comments about any of the work I'm involved in, please feel free to contact me.

Arc-Parallel Mantle Flow in Central America

Shear-wave splitting observations and tomographic imaging of anisotropic fabric, along with Pb and Nd isotrope data, provide strong evidence for the presence of arc-parallel mantle wedge flow beneath Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Such a pattern contradicts that predicted from classical 2-D corner flow.

Synthetic Shear-wave Splitting Program

Visualizing the effects of anisotropic structure on shear-wave particle motion is extremely beneficial in obtaining an intuition for the phenomenon of shear-wave splitting.
I have developed a Matlab program, SynthSplit, that allows anyone to generate their own split shear-waves. Feel free to download the code.
