Interests:  Yongsong is a biogeochemist with interest in climatic and environmental change, biogeochemical cycling of elements (e.g., carbon and nitrogen), and the origin, transport and fate of natural and anthropogenic organic compounds, astrobiology. He joined with the Quaternary Environmental group in 2001 in a collaboration to calibrate d-D measurements from aquatic lipids and tree waxes for comparisons to modern and past temperture and moisture.
